Stampin’ Up! Friend Like You Card Idea

Today I’ve been making some cards using the stamp set Friend Like You.

The images in this set are great for a beginner stamper or an avid stamper.  You will be able to create a simple card, but you know you can always turn a simple card into a card with lots of dimension and colors.

I started stamping the images with Old Olive and Rococo Rose ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Then layered on a piece of Rococo Rose cardstock.  Stamped the sentiment on Old Olive cardstock that I wrapped with Scalloped Linen Rococo Ribbon.

This was a quick simple card and looks great!

Until next time my friends,

Enjoy the SUnshine!

Stampin’ Up! Makes It Easy To Send A Beautiful Bouquet

I have never met anyone who doesn’t like receiving a fresh bouquet of flowers unless they are allergic to flowers then I totally understand.

But I’m sure, everyone would love to receive a beautiful bouquet on a handmade card.

I love this stamp set and I am super happy that Beautiful Bouquet was carried over into the new Catalog along with the coordinating Bouquet Bunch dies.

This card was made with Lovely Lipstick as the base of the card and layered with Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock.

The Classic Stampin’ Pads that I used were Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch, Gorgeous Grape and Memento Tuxedo Black.

Look at all the wonderful sentiments that you can use with this stamp set as well as so many different flowers.

Until next time my friends,

Enjoy the SUnshine!

You Light Up My Life – Jar Of Love Card Idea

One of my childhood summer memories in New Jersey was sitting outside at night and seeing lightning bugs.  I know some people call them fireflies but whatever you call them, they are the coolest bugs 🙂

Making this card brought back all of those great memories of family, friends and night time fun.

Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy to make this fun card.  This stamp set gives you so many options to fill your jar with.

All of the products used to make this handmade card are listed below along with a link to the products full description & shopping page.

Hope you like my Jar of Love Card Idea.

Until next time my friends,

Enjoy the SUnshine!

Handmade Confirmation Card Using the Cricut Expression

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a Handmade Confirmation Card that I made for our Godson Tyler.

I wasn’t sure how to go about making this card since I really didn’t have any rubber stamps for Confirmation, but I wanted it to be simple yet perfect.  Looking around my “craft world” I saw some American Crafts bakers twine and of course my Cricut Expression machine.  I knew that there had to be an image of the Holy Spirit in one of my many Cricut Cartridges, and I found it.  Using the Life is a Beach Cricut Cartridge, and the images of seagulls would work great.

Cutting the image onto white cardstock using the Cricut Expression and then layered onto a strip of craft paper that I wrapped in the bakers twine.  I then computer generated the wording and printed on the same white cardstock that I used for the Holy Spirit (seagull).  One more layer of red cardstock and I think this card turned out just the way I expected.  The Cricut never lets me down, another great Cricut card idea!

2014 inside confirmation card

For the inside I layered the same white on red with the computer generated message.  I forgot to take the picture before I wrote my personal message inside so that’s why the picture is cropped 🙂

Handmade Card For A Book and Cat Lover

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

My Godson is having a birthday this week and he is such an awesome writer.  He has written such fantastic short stories and articles that his teachers want to have them published, that’s how good he is.  So when I thinking of what kind of handmade card I was going to make for him, this rubber stamp was the perfect choice.  I know when he gets older he will have some books published and this is what my bookcase would look like with our Norwegian Forrest Cat 🙂

This stamp is from Stamps Happen, Inc./artist Charles Wysocki.   I first stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I used white because I knew I was going to color every inch of this image using Copic markers.  Then for the layered look, attached the image to blue cardstock then to a white card base.  This card was really fun to color.  Get yourself a large detailed rubberstamp and you can have some fun coloring too!  If you don’t have Copic markers you can use water based markers, pencils or even crayons if you like.  Just be creative and enjoy 🙂

~ Happy Birthday Tyler ~
