Handstamped Make A Wish Birthday Card

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Did you ever make a card that you can’t wait to send?  Well I just did and I hope my niece Nicole likes it as much as I had fun making it for her.

handmadebirthdaywishes

I used Work Shops on the Go, Blossom Card Making Kit from Close To My Heart to make this card.  In this kit there are two stamps that have a design that looks to me like a piece of washi tape. Well, I love washi tape and have ALOT of it, so I decided to use that instead.  I think it turned out even better then if I used the stamps.  That’s why we make handmade cards, so we can create and make our own original works of art 🙂

For added dimension I wrapped the washi tape around pieces of cardstock, so it really popped off the card.  When I was done with the front of this card it looked great but it needed something, so I took a sponge dabber and lightly put the same color watermelon ink used in the word Wish and brushed the edges of the card.  It really added the perfect touch.

Now for the inside.  I used the stamp that came with the kit but added some stickles for some “bling” and to really make it look fun!

Flower Patch Birthday Wishes

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  It has been Super Hot here in North Florida, and as much as I love the beach and pool, on days this hot and humid, crafting in air conditioning is so much more enjoyable 🙂

Since our move I am still re-arranging my “Craft World” and finding some really fun supplies that I haven’t used in awhile, along with some new items too.

So these cards have been made with fun color inks from different manufacturers.  The greens, bright blue and purple are Memento Dye inks, and the red, dark blue and yellows are from Stampin’ Up.

All the stamps used are from the new Stampin’ Up Flower Patch set that also has the matching thin dies that you can run through a Sizzix or a Cuttlebug machine.

The white cardstock is from Close To My Heart, that was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder from Anna Griffin.

The great thing about making cards like these is that you can use them for any occasion.  It’s just when you stamp your inside sentiment that you make it a certain kinda card such as birthday, anniversary, thinking of you…..  But these cards were made for Birthdays.

I think I need to keep staying cool in my “Craft World” ~  Come back for a visit to see what I create for my next card.

Cricut Facts – Week #4

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Can you believe this is the 4th week of Cricut Facts?  Time flies when you are having fun crafting with Cricut 🙂

Now that you’re more familiar with Cricut Explore One, Cricut Explore Air and Cricut Design Space, it’s time to chat about some of the really neat things you can create when you put it all  together.

As you’re getting familiar with your Cricut machine, it’s a great idea to take advantage of the free  Make it Now projects and images that you get with Cricut Design Space™.

For example, check out this adorable 3D Hot Air Balloons Mobile. It’s a fun, easy starter project and makes for the perfect baby shower or  toddler’s birthday gift (and can you believe it’s made with felt?). And what’s a gift without a card? Cricut has an incredible selection of card examples made with Cricut Explore machines. There’s even a whole selection dedicated to everything baby, which is where I came across this cute baby shower card.

Birthday

What better way to tell someone how special they are than with a hand/Cricut-made card and gift? This super  fun shaker card is perfect for a 21+ birthday. And even if you purchase a gift, you can always use your Cricut Explore machine to personalize it. For example, if you bought a friend a purse or a wallet, you could use your machine to monogram it with their initials. Or if you bought them a plain shirt or sweater, you could customize it with a fun image or statement.   I love this sparkly pineapple t-shirt. All you need is a blank shirt, a roll of Cricut Iron-on, and images from the Cricut® Summer Love image set.

Pool Party

Soak up the summer fun with a pool party! You can use your Cricut Explore to create everything from invitations to decorations. Here are some really creative ideas for how to add some special splash to a pool party.

Engagement/Wedding

Make your own beautiful table decorations, banners, party favor boxes, cards, and more for the happy couple in just a few minutes! You’ll find some really impressive ideas in Cricut’s Design Space, such as this lovely Mr. & Mrs. card.

There are an unbelievable number of project examples in the Design Space, which are categorized by type (e.g. baby, holidays, home décor, school, food, etc.) and by level (easy, moderate, and advanced). You can also find a ton of great ideas for projects on Cricut’s Blog and also on our Pinterest page.

The summer season is a perfect time to get your very own Cricut machine and familiarize yourself with Design Space and all the incredible projects you can create.   Try out a few projects each month and you’ll be amazed  at how easy it is. By the time the holiday season rolls around, you’ll be a Cricut pro and will totally WOW your friends and family with your stunning crafting skills!
