Handstamped Birthday Card Idea along with Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Friends,

Have you ever made a card and when it was complete said to yourself or out loud “Wow that looks Fantastic”?  Well, I just did 🙂

Having a Handstamped Birthday Card Idea along with Cricut Card Idea can only turn out to be Wonderful!

Using just two stamps from Stampin’ Up, a few paper punches from Stampin’ Up and Marvy Uchida , Cuttlebug with polka dot embossing folder, Cricut Expression machine, Lovely Floral Cricut cartridge, cardstock from The Paper Cut, and some pearl embellishments from Jolee.

When I was done with the stamping and layering of this card it looked great but it needed just one more thing.  I had to add an image from the Lovely Floral Cricut lite cartridge.  The butterfly was perfect.  It added the final touch to this handmade birthday card.  And you know me, I love my Cricut 🙂

Stampin’ Up New Stamp Set Moving Forward

Hello My Crafty and Stamping Friends.

I have made this birthday card for my dad-in-law using the new Moving Forward stamp set from Stampin’ Up.  Besides the fact that this set is really fun, it gets even better, because when you purchase this stamp set, Stampin’ Up donates part of the purchase price to support the Ronald McDonald House charities.

So you have fun stamping while helping a charity – I love it!

The stamp set has a bicycle (which I used), sail boat and a blimp (balloon), also with some sentiments.

In this card I used alot of supplies that are in my craft room.  The seagulls were cut using the Cricut Expression machine with the Life is a Beach cartridge.

Palm trees was made with a paper punch from punch bunch for the palms and the base was cut freehand on a piece of kraft cardstock and with the side of a Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad just brushed against lightly to get the look of a trunk of the tree.

I live on an island in north Florida and so many people ride there bicycles on the beach so since my dad-in-law visited and loved that idea I made him the beach theme card.

All I did to make the layers of the sand and ocean was I just used the torn paper look (really just tear the piece of cardstock) to get an uneven look.  I then added some glitter for the glistening sand.

Wishing my Dad-In-Law a Very Happy Birthday!

Handmade Gumball Birthday Card using a Cricut Expression Machine

Today I will be making a very special birthday card for my Godson who is turning 13.  I Can’t believe he is going to be a teenager!  Time sure does go fast, I remember the day he was born… ok, I’m done reminiscing 🙂

Anyway, I wanted this card to be colorful and totally different from the cards that I have done in the past.  My Godson is a total “cookie monster” but I couldn’t really find any fun cookie theme, so I went with the next best thing, Gum, and a gumball machine.

Using my Cricut Expression machine and the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge, I cut out the gumball machine.  Since I wanted so many different color gum balls I decided to use a 1/2″ circle paper punch instead of the cricut cartridge, it was just faster and easier and I got to use scraps of cardstock that I had too.

I assembled the entire card using a Zig 2 Way Glue pen.  Oh before I forget, I also cut a clear piece of plastic to place over the top of the gumball machine so it really looked like the gumballs were in a glass bowl.

It’s Time For Our 2011 Handmade Christmas Cards using Joys of the Season Cricut Cartridge

Time has been flying since we moved.  Getting adjusted to the new town and even the new time zone for us has been exciting.  But with all of the great distractions, it is time to get started and make time for getting creative and to make our handmade Christmas Cards.

This year I need to incorporate our new address along with a Christmas theme.  So I decided to make a Christmas ornament using the Joys of the Season Cricut Cartridge, and a We’ve Moved rubber stamp from PSX. (I just wish this stamp had two cats in the window to represent my two boys).

Now deciding what color to make the ornament and back panel.  I choose………. Christmas green and red (how appropriate – LOL)

I used the Cricut Expression Machine to cut the ornaments.  Then I used a Cutter Bee paper trimmer to cut the red back panel.

Some other supplies that I will use is Copic Sketch markers, Elmer’s permanent dot runner, pop dots, natural polished hemp rope, Memento tuxedo black dye ink, and some sea shells from our beach (if you don’t have a beach near by, then you can always purchase shell online or in a craft store).

I printed our address on blue cardstock and used an oval paper punch from punch bunch to cut them out.  The reason why I had to do that was the space that the stamp provided was way to small for our address and if I did write that tiny, no one would have been able to read it.  So when I stamped the image on white cardstock I just masked that part of the image so it wouldn’t stamp.   Then to add some dimension I used a pop dot to raise the address from the card.  The finishing touch was attaching the sea shell with the hemp rope along with our inside message.

Making Handmade Easter Cards Using Rubber Stamps ~ Copic Sketch Markers & Cricut Expression Machine

Ever since I went to my local rubber stamp convention, I have so many new ideas for handmade cards.  And the best part is that it is not costing any more money, since I have all the supplies.  I am using all of the stamps that I have already owned but am using them in a totally different way.  I went from just stamping on cardstock to making 3D images.

So here is a bunch of supplies that I have used to make this Easter Card.  Rubber stamps from Stamps Happen Inc, and StampabilitiesMemento Tuxedo Black Ink, Cutter Bee Scissors, Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page paper punch, Cardstock and alot of Copic Sketch Markers.

I also used my Cricut Expression machine to cut out the border grass from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and also used the Pooh and Friends Cricut cartridge for the small patches of grass.

The template was used to cut (with X-Acto knife) small lines and then folded to make a 3-D platform.  It took awhile to get the folds just right, but it was sure worth the effort.

It was so much fun coloring these stamped Easter eggs, then I cut them out and added them  onto the card.

I almost forgot to tell you.  I wanted the front of the Easter card to be really simple since the inside had all of the fun stuff .  So all I did was stamped Happy Easter on the bottom corner and then I used some Easter egg ribbon from Bobbin Ribbon, that I wrapped around the card and made a bow on the front.  That’s it really simple.

Look how cute this Easter card came out.  This little chick is so adorable.
