It’s Beginning To Look Alot Like Handmade Christmas Cards

Hello My Stamping Friends,

It’s beginning to look alot like Christmas in my craft room.  The fun part of this is that I really don’t know what I am going to create.  That’s why this is so much fun.  I have some Stampin’ Up! products that I will be using to create my cards today.

Come back to visit and see what I created with all these card making supplies.

Stampin’ Up New Stamp Set Moving Forward

Hello My Crafty and Stamping Friends.

I have made this birthday card for my dad-in-law using the new Moving Forward stamp set from Stampin’ Up.  Besides the fact that this set is really fun, it gets even better, because when you purchase this stamp set, Stampin’ Up donates part of the purchase price to support the Ronald McDonald House charities.

So you have fun stamping while helping a charity – I love it!

The stamp set has a bicycle (which I used), sail boat and a blimp (balloon), also with some sentiments.

In this card I used alot of supplies that are in my craft room.  The seagulls were cut using the Cricut Expression machine with the Life is a Beach cartridge.

Palm trees was made with a paper punch from punch bunch for the palms and the base was cut freehand on a piece of kraft cardstock and with the side of a Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad just brushed against lightly to get the look of a trunk of the tree.

I live on an island in north Florida and so many people ride there bicycles on the beach so since my dad-in-law visited and loved that idea I made him the beach theme card.

All I did to make the layers of the sand and ocean was I just used the torn paper look (really just tear the piece of cardstock) to get an uneven look.  I then added some glitter for the glistening sand.

Wishing my Dad-In-Law a Very Happy Birthday!

Card Making Is Always On The Top Of My List

Hello My Crafty Friends,

I have been busy working on some fun projects.  Of course making handmade cards has been on the top of my list, but I have been also looking at my small kitchen table wondering how I can make it more fun. We don’t sit at this table, it is actually for my cats to look out the window 🙂   I found a piece of fabric that I think I am going to somehow make a table top not a table cloth.  Anyway as soon as I figure it all out I will show you what I am talking about.

Here are some of the fun cards that I have been making ~ You can stop over at Stampin Upon The Island to find out how these cards were made.

Saying Happy Easter With A Handmade Greeting Card

This year I am making a simple Easter Card.  I will be using one stamp that is a oldie but goodie that I have had for awhile from a  now retired Stampin’ Up! set called Festive Four, along with some patterned paper, solid pink cardstock  and the finishing touches of ribbon and a bow.

2012 easter card

I stamped the image with Rich Cocoa Memento dye ink, then colored with pastel colored  Tombow markers and what is so cute is that they this pack of markers is called jelly bean. Oh well I used it for Easter eggs instead 🙂  Using these bright colors makes these eggs just as fun to decorate as if you were coloring real eggs and without the mess that usually goes along with egg coloring.

I can’t wait for Easter this year.  I will be cooking for our family and I know it will be a day filled with lots of love & laughter.

Sea Shells Make the Perfect Handmade Birthday Card

I am loving living at the beach and having so much fun collecting shells.  My sisters birthday is coming soon so I need to make her a handmade birthday card.  I don’t know what she would do if I bought her a card, but she NEVER has to worry about that since I love making cards.

I will be using a rubber stamp from Peddler’s Pack of a pair of flip flops (beach theme again LOL)  I stamped this image 2 times on plain white cardstock, because I wanted to add some dimension with layers.  The sentiment stamp Live, love, laugh and be happy… is from Stampabilities.

I used one image for the base and colored using Copic sketch markers.  Then with the other image I cut out the wave border and the flip flops.  I used small pop dots on those images so they really looked like they were popping off the card. (of course I took the photo straight on so you really can’t see the dimension, sorry)

But now comes the really fun part.  I glued tiny shells that I found at the beach onto the frame of the card, and since I raised that wave border the shells sit really nicely on the card.
