A Handstamped Birthday Card With Some Fun Fiber Embellishments

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a handstamped birthday card with some fun fiber embellishments that I made for my mother-in-law.  I wanted to make this card bright and colorful.

I had so many ideas for this card and instead of choosing one stamp set and theme, I put them all onto one card.  What women does does not like shoes and a matching purse 🙂

Using some stamp sets that I have had from Hero Arts, I stamped the sandal, woven bag and the sentiment with tuxedo black memento ink onto plain white cardstock.  Then using a square paper punch cut out each image.

Next step was to color them using a copic marker (dark suntan) and that’s it! But I just had to add some kind of embellishment.  So I  punched a tiny flower and using a styles tool just pressed down in the middle and it made a small indent in the middle of the flower and then I added a drop of silver stickles.

Since I wanted a layered look to this card I punched  a larger square from black cardstock for each image and stuck them together using my ATG gun.  Also had a scrap piece of lime green cardstock so I put that in the back of the Pink cardstock that had three squares cut out already.  (I got these card kits a few years ago from The Paper Cut company who were at a rubber stamp convention), it would have been really easy to make if I didn’t have this already cut out just by using a larger square punch. For an extra “pop” I added pop dots on the back of the black cardstock before I put onto the lime green.   Then for the finishing touch on the outside of this card I added some funky fiber that I had from EK Success that I found in my stash of ribbons, raffia, bakers twine…

For the inside I kept the same colors and layering look, and added a strip of striped paper behind the layers.  Then added a rhinestone for that extra bling!

Handstamped Birthday Card For a Cat Lover

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Most of you know that I have two furry children, and I am sure just like real children they can make you mad, sad but most of all happy.  Well this card just makes me happy.   I don’t know if it’s the colors that I used or just the image of these two cats but I really like how it turned out.

I stamped the image (Magenta cling stamp) with Memento black ink on white cardstock  and then colored in the image with just a few Copic markers.  I have no idea who makes the polka dot paper cause it was in my folder of scraps, and the solid lavender cardstock is from the Paper Cut.  The finishing touch was adding some ribbon and a pearl embellishment.

I still had some scraps left over so for the inside I stamped Happy Birthday and layered it on top of the same cardstock I used for the outside of the card.

Hope you like this card. It was really fun to make, now I have to wait for someones birthday so I can send it out.  I think this is the first time I am ahead of the game in making a card 🙂

A Special Handstamped Birthday Card

Hello My Stamping Friends,

I can’t believe it’s January when the temperature outside feels like summer 🙂  I’m really loving this Florida weather.

Today I made a handstamped birthday card for my sister using some fun rubber stamping ideas.  Now that I see the finished card,  I also used some bright summertime colors as well.

I can’t remember the last time that I made a card that I didn’t use a layering technique.  It just brings the handstamped card to life when you add some pop dots and other paper embellishments.

The rubber stamps  that I used are from Stampin’ Up! as well as the scalloped punch, the circle punches that I used are from Marvy Uchida but remember, you can use any stamps and paper punches that you have in your own supplies to make your special handmade, handstamped birthday card for your special person.

Sea Shells Make the Perfect Handmade Birthday Card

I am loving living at the beach and having so much fun collecting shells.  My sisters birthday is coming soon so I need to make her a handmade birthday card.  I don’t know what she would do if I bought her a card, but she NEVER has to worry about that since I love making cards.

I will be using a rubber stamp from Peddler’s Pack of a pair of flip flops (beach theme again LOL)  I stamped this image 2 times on plain white cardstock, because I wanted to add some dimension with layers.  The sentiment stamp Live, love, laugh and be happy… is from Stampabilities.

I used one image for the base and colored using Copic sketch markers.  Then with the other image I cut out the wave border and the flip flops.  I used small pop dots on those images so they really looked like they were popping off the card. (of course I took the photo straight on so you really can’t see the dimension, sorry)

But now comes the really fun part.  I glued tiny shells that I found at the beach onto the frame of the card, and since I raised that wave border the shells sit really nicely on the card.
