Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge Is Perfect For A 4th of July Scrapbook Page

With the 4th of July just around the corner, I wanted to use the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge to make a scrapbook page.  I have been rubber stamping for the past couple of weeks and it sure feel fantastic to use my Cricut Expression machine again.

We will be going to a friends house for a BBQ on the 4th and you know that I will be taking pictures to capture the fun.

The best part of the 4th for me is watching the firework display in the evening.  It’s funny, I am petrified of fireworks when I am close to them but from a distance, they are beautiful.

So using my Cricut Expression machine, I cut the fireworks image and made it in three different sizes and also cut the image of the Statue of Liberty.  Growing up in New Jersey the firework display was over the Hudson and watching it on television they always showed the Statue of Liberty in the distance with the fireworks above.  And seeing it in person was just unbelievable.  The roar of the crowds Ooooooooh’s &  Aaaaaaaah’s, bands playing music to go with the fireworks, great friends to share the evening with, what else could one ask for, it was fantastic!

I love those memories but let’s get back to the scrapbook page, so after cutting the fireworks, I added some glitter to each using Martha Stewart fine glitter, for that extra sparkle.  And for the wording I made polka dots using red and blue markers from ek success and for the white the Martha Stewart opaque marker.

When I print my pictures depending on how many, I will use either the small wallet photo size or maybe even the thumb print size to just put around the page.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the Military Men and Women all around the world who keep me and my family safe everyday.  I can’t thank you enough for all of your dedication and courage.  God Bless each and every one of you.

Another Cute Birthday Cricut Card Idea Made With The Celebrations And Designer Calendar Cricut Cartridges

Our niece Riley’s 11th birthday is next week and again I wanted to made a cute card using my cricut.  What 11 year old girl doesn’t like cake and presents?

So I used those two things for the front of the card.  I cut out the cake  from the Designer’s Calendar Cricut cartridge and the present from the Celebrations Cricut cartridge, both using my Cricut Expression machine.

I cut the cake on plain white cardstock then colored in the image with Copic Sketch markers and then added some “bling” with stickles to the frosting of the cake and the flame of the candle.

The present I cut out on two different shades of purple but again added Stickles onto the bow to add a little sparkle to the present.

I then used my Cuttlebug and embossed a light green plaid piece of cardstock with a star embossing folder, layered that onto a solid piece of purple cardstock and finished with a polka dot bow, using American Craft ribbon.

I think this came out really cute and for the inside saying I printed on the computer:  Happy Cake and Presents Day!

Wishing Riley a Very Happy Birthday!

A Great Cricut Card Idea for a Get Well Card Using Life’s A Beach Cartridge

Happy Tuesday Everyone ~ Hope you are all having a Wonderful Day

Today I needed to make a get well card for a dear friend who is going through a rough patch with his health.  I’m sure that he is receiving alot of cards with your typical message inside.  I on the other hand wanted to make him a handmade get well card to definitely put a smile on his face, so I decided to make a Get Whale Soon Card.

I cut the whale with my Cricut Expression machine using the Life’s A Beach Cricut cartridge, along with the border of waves.

Then I used my Cricut Gypsy for the inside message using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the font and the welding function to attach the letters together.

I had to give this card some “bling” so I used Baby Blue Stickles to add to the waves, and also made some polka dots on the letters with my Zig writer marker.

I hope that this card is what the doctor ordered to put a smile on his face.  Hope you like it too!

Another Great Cricut Card Idea For Mother’s Day, Using the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge

This year I wanted to make our Mother’s Day cards using my Cricut Expression machine.  I recently purchased the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge and really took a look at all the great images that were on  this cartridge.  I can see many fun Cricut card ideas coming from this one cartridge.

The bicycle built for two would be perfect.  Since the cards are from my husband and myself this would work out great.  I filled the basket with some flowers from the Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge, along with a small Prima flower with a rhinestone in the middle.  For the center of the wheels I used a flower punch and added a rhinestone again for that added bling.   I wanted to put two people on the bicycle seats, so again from the Sweethearts cartridge there is an  image of the couple sitting at the cafe table would work, since they were sitting on a chair and now would be on the seat of this bicycle.  All I needed to do was snip there hands apart.  This Sweethearts cartridge is really fun!  I can’t wait to make more cricut cards with it.

When I was done with these cards they looked adorable, and with our own saying inside that I printed with my computer would really make our Moms happy.

When I showed them to my husband, he thought they were cute but he had an idea.  To cut our faces out of a picture and put them on the bodies of the couple.  During Christmas you see that they have “elf yourself” on the computer, well we just did that on our card.  What a great cricut card idea that was.  Hope you enjoy the card, I had so much fun making them.

Wishing our Moms a Fantastic Mother’s Day, because they only deserve the Best!

Making a Handmade Birthday Card with the Paisley Cricut Cartridge

I hope that everyone is having a great week so far.  I just finished making my brother in law a handmade birthday card using my Cricut Expression machine with the new Paisley Cricut cartridge, Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge, and also the Mini Monograms Cricut cartridge.  It came out so great that I just had to share it with you.

My brother-in-law just ran in the New York City half marathon,  so I wanted the theme of his handmade birthday card to  be running.

I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the background of the city, and the Paisley Cricut cartridge for the sneaker.  The metal that he received was gold and had a Y cut out looking like a subway token.  So I used the Mini Monograms Cricut cartridge to cut out the Y.

I had so much fun making this handmade birthday card, and I know that Harry will like it too!
