2015 Graduation Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

WOW!  I can’t believe that I just made this card.  My nephew Ryan graduated high school and will be leaving for college in 2 months.   Where did the time go?  And if I am feeling like this I can’t imagine how my sister feels 🙂

I used the Cricut Expression and the Wild Card Cartridge to make the graduation cap and tassel.  Also cut the tassel out 3 times so that the school colors were all there. For the lettering I used the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge.  Also embossed a piece of black cardstock with the Cuttlebug and a Star embossing folder from Bringing Crafts-Too You.  I just had to add stickles to the stars and also to the class of 2015.

~ Congratulations Ryan~

Cricut Facts – Week #1

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

For the next four weeks I will be sharing with you some fun facts about Cricut that you might not know.  This week we will be discussing the two newest machines that Cricut offers.

So, if you’re reading this post, chances are, you’re a creative type. You like to craft, explore your creativity, and share your creations with others. And it’s for people like you that Cricut created their line of personal electronic cutting machines.

A little known fact about Cricut is that they’ve actually been in business for over 50 years, and their primary purpose has been to develop tools that inspire creativity in people.

Today, millions of people use Cricut’s award-winning products to create beautiful, inventive, and personal projects.

So, what is Cricut? Cricut is actually a family of electronic cutting machines that make it possible for you to easily create amazing do-it-yourself (DIY) projects. Well, not totally DIY because Cricut’s incredible machine’s do a LOT of the heavy lifting.

The two machines that Cricut offers are:

To give you loads of creative freedom and versatility, Cricut developed the Cricut Design Space, a cloud-based software that works seamlessly with the Cricut Explore® family of machines.

Design Space gives you access to all of your images and projects from any compatible computer or iPad, so you can design just about anything, anytime, and anywhere.

Once you’ve uploaded your design (or pre-designed image) to your Cricut Explore cutting machine, you can sit back and watch it magically bring your design to life.

There are so many interesting things you can make and do with Cricut – which we’ll be sure to cover in a future post. But before we get too ahead of ourselves, it’s best to go over each of Cricut’s machines, what they do, and how they are different. And since I’ve given you quite a bit of info already, we’ll pick up on there in next week’s post!

Until then …

It is Officially Summer and Time to Craft

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Now that it is officially summer, and school is out, what kind of plans do you all have?  Hopefully crafting is on your list 🙂

I have been busy with lots of stuff lately, and I want to share with you some on my handmade greeting cards that I have been making.  This card I made for my mother-in-law for Mothers Day.

I think I told you already but just in case you missed it, My girlfriend Kim, is a Close To My Heart consultant and I ordered the Workshops On The Go, Blossom Cardmaking Kit.  I have always made cards from scratch, never from a kit, but let me tell you, this is AWESOME!

Everything that you need to make 15 cards is included.   Serious, all I needed was paper trimmer, stamp pad, acrylic block and adhesive.  And I have leftovers to make more 🙂

If you want to order this kit, please just click on this link and it will take you to Kim’s shopping page – Blosson Cardmaking Kit #G1095  Tell Kim I sent you 🙂

It’s A Girl Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Our family is so excited.  As the inside of the card says “Our Nest Has Been Blessed”

Our nephew has just become a new father to a beautiful baby girl.

So to welcome this new bundle of joy I wanted to make a cute pink baby card.

This card just makes me smile.  I used the Cricut Expression along with the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut Cartridge.  Added some pink Stickles and ribbon for the finishing “bling”.

Sixteen Candles Zentangle Birthday Card

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Hope you are all doing well.  I am loving this new Zentangle Art that I have been doing now since November.  I am trying different ways to incorporate Zentangle with all of the craft supplies that I currently have and its working pretty well.

My Godsons birthday was earlier this month and I wanted to make a special card.  So I used candle framelits from The Stamps Of Life.  I cut out 16 of them on white cardstock using the Cuttlebug machine and then Zentangled each one with a different original pattern using a Pigma Ink Micron 01 marker.  Now I had to think of a cool way to put them all together and not hide the design.  So I punched a hole in the bottom of each candle using my Crop-a-Dial and attached them all  with a small brad.

Happy Birthday Zentangle Card

To cover the brad, I stamped the Banner using the Close to my Heart stamp set Banner Wishes and then added some of my own Zentangle pattern to the stamp to make it blend perfectly with the candles.

I think this card turned out great.  I am so happy that I can use all of my supplies and add my own design by drawing some Zentangle art.

~ Happy Birthday Tyler ~
