Sixteen Candles Zentangle Birthday Card

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Hope you are all doing well.  I am loving this new Zentangle Art that I have been doing now since November.  I am trying different ways to incorporate Zentangle with all of the craft supplies that I currently have and its working pretty well.

My Godsons birthday was earlier this month and I wanted to make a special card.  So I used candle framelits from The Stamps Of Life.  I cut out 16 of them on white cardstock using the Cuttlebug machine and then Zentangled each one with a different original pattern using a Pigma Ink Micron 01 marker.  Now I had to think of a cool way to put them all together and not hide the design.  So I punched a hole in the bottom of each candle using my Crop-a-Dial and attached them all  with a small brad.

Happy Birthday Zentangle Card

To cover the brad, I stamped the Banner using the Close to my Heart stamp set Banner Wishes and then added some of my own Zentangle pattern to the stamp to make it blend perfectly with the candles.

I think this card turned out great.  I am so happy that I can use all of my supplies and add my own design by drawing some Zentangle art.

More Birthday Step-Up Card Ideas

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

I am having so much fun with this Sizzix  Basic Step-Ups framelits die.  And, I am so happy I need to make a birthday card for my sister-in-law.  She loves flowers and I was thinking what a colorful flower/garden shop card I could create.

So using the Sizzix framelits die, along with my Cuttlebug and a lot of different paper flower punches I went to work and this is the finished card.

Here is a close up of the flowers, it amazing how much fun you can have creating with craft supplies that are just hanging around in your craft space .  I used numerous flower paper punches, scrap pieces of cardstock, foam to shape the flower with a stylis tool and some glue 🙂

For the flower pots I used rubber stamps that I had from Stampin Up and just covered up the flower images with my handmade flowers.

Step-Up Birthday Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

My nephew is turning 18 this week.  I really can’t believe how time flies, and if I am feeling like this I can only imagine how my sister is feeling 🙂

Anyway, I wanted this card to be fun, so thinking of fun I thought of candy, and this is what I created with those thoughts in mind.

I started with some candle stamps from the Stamps of Life, and colored with Copic markers.  (I made sure I stamped 18 candles..LOL)The saying was computer generated.

For the inside I used the basic Step-Ups die from Sizzix, and all of the candy and candy jars were stamped with a stamp set from Close To My Heart called Sweet as Sugar.  I cut each one out by hand.  All colored with Copic sketch markers,  and one candy jar was filled with different colored gumballs made from a circle paper punch.

This is the side view of the card so you can see how it really is 3-dimensional.   This die (Basic Step-Ups) from Sizzix is my favorite for the moment.  You can do sooooo much creating with it, so many possibilities.  Since it is a candy shop I wanted to create the look of an  awning that you would see outside on a shop in your local town.  So I used a border Framelit die and folded it around the base of the cardstock to get the look that I wanted.

I had so much fun making this card using so many different stamps and punches and dies, but I think it was worth it!

A Simple Handstamped Birthday Card For A Cat Person

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Every time that I make a greeting card I take a few pictures.  Well my file is getting really big, which means that I have not shared with you all of my fun creations.

This card was for my sister-in-laws birthday.  She loves cats, plus her cat is really fluffy like the cat in this rubber stamp by Stampabilities.  I wanted to keep the card simple, yet not boring so I embellished with some ribbon from Ribbon Trends and the small flower that I made with the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge and Cricut Expression machine.

Using Copic sketch markers I just outlined the image and it gave it just the right amount of color.  The very muted background was done with a sponge dauber and memento inks.

I have heard this saying before and I thought it was really funny but didn’t have a stamp, so I used my own handwriting and wrote the sentiment on the front of the card as well as the inside.  The rest of the saying inside reads… The more you have the more you want to gag.

The smile on the cat is so confident and is telling us that, I am cute and I know it 🙂

A Day At The Beach Handmade Birthday Card

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a birthday card that I hand stamped for my father-in-law aka Poppa.

I just think the stamps from Art Impression are so funny.  When I started designing this card I took this relaxed man sitting in a chair and decided to put him on the beach, under a palm tree.  That’s a good way to spend your birthday if you asked me 🙂

Since I don’t have an air brush and I didn’t want to use lots of different color cardstock for the background, I decided to take out my watercolor pencils that have been in this pouch for years and see what I could do.  I also used some Copic Sketch  markers to color this guys clothes.

Once I stamped the palm tree it looked like it was just growing in the middle of the sand, so I found a stamp of this boat in my stash of rubber stamps, and once I added it to the bottom of the tree it totally looked like it belongs.  Added some layers of cardstock to the base of the card, attached some brass brads to the corners and it’s done.

It still amazes me how by just using 3 rubber stamps you can make such a cool handmade/handstamped greeting card.

~ Hope you enjoyed your Day At The Beach ~
