When It is Cold Outside It is A Perfect Time To Craft Inside

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

I am ready for a little warmer weather.  Most people think that when you live in Florida its always warm weather with swaying palm trees,  well the palm trees are swaying but let me tell you that we have had freezing weather for two nights, and during the day it didn’t get into the 60’s.  I know others have it really bad, but it’s cold 🙂

Anyway, when it’s cold outside you want to stay inside and what a better time to craft.  So as I was in the kitchen making myself a cup of hot chocolate, I looked at my trash can and got a great idea.  Let’s decorate a plain white trash can into a one of a kind trash can.

I didn’t want to make anything permanent just in case I was going to change the color accents in the kitchen so I decided to use the repositionable  Joans Craft World vinyl for this project. Since my tablecloth has all palm leaves on it,  I decided to make a palm tree using the Cricut Expression along with the Life is a Beach cartridge.

Just using two sheets of the Joans Craft World, Beach Theme, Repositionable Craft vinyl (light brown and celadon),  I made an ordinary trash can into a really fun and creative one.

Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Our niece is having a birthday in a few days and loves Hello Kitty, so what a perfect cricut card idea I had using the Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge.  I forgot how cute this cricut cartridge really is 🙂

This handmade birthday card was so much fun to make and to think that it only took a few minutes using my Cricut Expression machine and 4 pieces of (white, pink, red and black) cardstock, and some adhesive.  Look how great it looks.

For the inside of the card I cut the happy birthday saying that was on the cartridge on pink cardstock and using a Zig 2 way glue just applied each letter onto the white card along with a small red flower that was also on the cartridge.

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a handmade birthday card that I made for our nephew who can now drive.  I just had to make a card that had a car on it 🙂 so I looked though all of my stamps and cricut cartridges and I found it!  And for those of you that know how many stamps that I have you know it took awhile ~ LOL

Coffee Cup Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Friends,

Today I want to share with you a handmade coffee cup birthday card that I made for my brother-in-law.  I have seen lots of cards in the shape of a coffee cups like the ones you would see at your local coffee shop, and I thought that would be a fun idea for a birthday card.  Well after looking at all of my Cricut Cartridges, would you believe that I did not have that cartridge?    So here is where a little imagination and some creativity comes in.

Using the From My Kitchen Cricut Cartridge, Gypsy and Cricut Expression machine,  I made a coffee cup card.

I cut the shape in blackout mode of the refrigerator, yup, you read that correctly the refrigerator.  All I did was cut the two small legs off the bottom and I had the shape of a coffee cup.  I was enclosing a gift card into this card so i just made sure when sizing this card that the card would fit inside without sticking out.  Using the Gypsy I welding the sides together which made a card.  All I needed to do is fold in the center.

As I am writing this post and looking at the From My Kitchen Cricut Cartridge booklet and  I am laughing because I could have just used the shift function and I would have got the same image and wouldn’t have had to cut off the legs. 🙂

Anyway I increased the size and cut it out again but his time with a brown cardstock.  Then using a paper cutter (or you could use a scissor) just snipped off the top pf the refrigerator shape to make it look like a lid.  It looked good but seeing pictures of coffee cup lids they had some curve to it, so I took a small oval paper punch and with one punch on each side did the trick of looking like a lid.  Then added a piece of raffia for a little extra dimension.

For the bottom half of the coffee cup took the brown cardstock, cut a strip that would wrap around the entire card (just like the cup wrap you would get in a coffee shop so you don’t burn your hands on the hot cup)  ran that strip through the Cuttlebug with embossing folder.  Final touch was the circle birthday sentiment, circle punch then applied with a pop dot.

A Birthday Cricut Card Ideas Using Flower Shoppe

Hello My Friends,

I have to start this post by saying Wow!!!!!

I know that this cricut cartridge has been out for awhile now but I just got my hands on it and I will never let it go 🙂

Anyone who loves flowers, paper, and of course the Cricut Expression or any Cricut cutting machine, will absolutely love this Art Cartridge Flower Shoppe from Cricut.

My Mom just had a very special birthday and I wanted to make her the most perfect handmade card ever…..and since I was enclosing the card into a box along with her present I didn’t care if it would be a little bulky.

Using the Cricut Expression machine I cut out several different sizes of the Daisy1 flower onto different colors and patterns of cardstock.  To think that a piece of paper cut into a circle spiral and when rolled up can make such great looking  flowers is pretty cool 🙂  All it takes is some adhesive to keep it together and WA-la a flower.  I also use the Cricut spatula to remove the flowers from the Cricut cutting mat, it made it so much easier using the spatula and not worrying about the paper tearing.

I also added some white ribbon, blue raffia and twine to make the bow.  Of course that wasn’t enough I had to cut out some heats and attach to the bottom of the ribbon.

~ Happy Birthday  Mom ~
