Using Close To My Heart Products to make Beautiful Handmade Greeting Cards

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Hope you are all having a great Monday and a Happy Columbus Day.

I made this card last week at my friend Cathy’s home when she was having Close To My Heart gathering.  We made a lot of great cards and this one just reminded me that today is Columbus Day.

I love Close To My Heart Products especially the cardstock and this color Juniper looks so awesome with the Cocoa Exclusive ink.

OK, so now I want to give you a quiz ~ LOL ~ Do you remember the start to the Christopher Columbus poem that we learned back in elementary school?

So Many Smiles Stamp Set ~ Close To My Heart

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Have you ever had a week that went by so quickly?  Well that was my week.  I can’t believe that it is Friday already.

I have been having so much fun creating cards with all of the Close To My Heart products that I received in my new consultant kit.

The funny thing about todays stamp set is that I had it on my wish list before I joined and it ended up being in the consultant kit which put a Big Smile on my face 🙂

There are so many things that you can do with this So Many Smiles stamp set – it comes with 12 stamps, and you can make flowers or just totally abstract design with these fun circles.

A great thing to know is that on the clear sheet that the stamps are attached to, shows the size of each circle.  You may be saying so what’s so great about that. Well I will tell you.

*If you have a Cricut machine and the Close To My Heart exclusive Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, you can cut out the images perfectly and then stamp.

*BUT if you don’t have the cartridge and you do have some circle paper punches you are in luck.  All you would need is four circle punches in size 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/2″, and 2 1/4″ and you have all the circles needed.

And if you have a pair of scissors you can cut them all out by hand which is really easy plus really gives your card the handmade look.

Hope you enjoyed my card today ~ Have a Wonderful weekend 🙂

A Close To My Heart Card Making Evening With Friends

Hello  My Fellow Crafters,

Yesterday some of my friends who also have a passion or should I say obsession with crafting just like I do got together for a Close To My Heart card making evening.  Besides making these fun handstamped greeting cards, we had ALOT of laughs 🙂

One thing that I learned was how to hide ink smudges. LOL

hellocardclosetomyheart

You would never know this but the single flower on this card has a big ink smudge under it and the small leaf has one too.  That’s the fun that you can have when you handstamp your cards.  You plan on the card to look one way but by the time you are done your card creation changes, and that’s not always a bad thing.

The best part is the person who is receiving this card, has no idea 🙂

~ Thanks Kim for hosting this great card making evening ~

Handstamped Make A Wish Birthday Card

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Did you ever make a card that you can’t wait to send?  Well I just did and I hope my niece Nicole likes it as much as I had fun making it for her.

I used Work Shops on the Go, Blossom Card Making Kit from Close To My Heart to make this card.  In this kit there are two stamps that have a design that looks to me like a piece of washi tape. Well, I love washi tape and have ALOT of it, so I decided to use that instead.  I think it turned out even better then if I used the stamps.  That’s why we make handmade cards, so we can create and make our own original works of art 🙂

For added dimension I wrapped the washi tape around pieces of cardstock, so it really popped off the card.  When I was done with the front of this card it looked great but it needed something, so I took a sponge dabber and lightly put the same color watermelon ink used in the word Wish and brushed the edges of the card.  It really added the perfect touch.

Now for the inside.  I used the stamp that came with the kit but added some stickles for some “bling” and to really make it look fun!
