A Fun 17th Birthday Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

I love making box cards.  There are so many cricut card ideas floating around in my head LOL.  Cricut Box cards are the perfect canvas for any holiday or special occasion, and you can customize your card so easily.

This is the box card that I made for our niece who was celebrating her 17th Birthday.  She is now allowed to drive and I thought this would be really cute way to celebrate this special birthday.

I used my Cricut Explore Air machine to cut out all of the images.  For the stars in the front, I used the Martha Stewart “fringe” scissor and then punched out stars with a Fiskar paper punch.  Glued each star onto the front and back of the fringe. (Yes that was a lot of work but it was well worth it because i think it looks great) 🙂

And you know I needed to add some “bling” on this card and what better then some Martha Stewart ultra fine glitter.  I think it was the perfect choice.

~ Happy Birthday Nicole ~ Love you to the moon and back ~

My Crafty Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

It has been a super busy summer and it is finally slowing down.  I have so many cards to share with you all and I am going to start with my favorite one of the summer 🙂My Godson Tyler graduated High School and is now a freshman in College.

So for this card on one side flap I put his high school Emblem and the other the Emblem of his College.

Now here is my crafty Cricut Card Idea.  I didn’t just want to give him a check or cash in his card so I incorporated the cash into the design of the card.  I rolled up the cash added string with attached stars.  Next make paper tubes with the designer congratulations paper, then inserted the rolled cash into tube.  Now all he had to do was pull the stars and his gift would come out of the rolled paper tubes, and the card will still look good 🙂

I used my Cricut Explore Air to cut everything that was used to make this card.  I have said this so many times and I will say it again I LOVE MY CRICUT!

Thanks for stopping by today ~ I will be posting more cards that I have made this summer so please come back and check them out.

A Happy Birthday Zentangle Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a birthday card that I made for my Poppa (my husbands dad).  I always have a hard time making masculine cards and I wanted to make this one just a little different then all the others that I have made for him over the years.

I am still fascinated with each Zentangle design that I create because I never really know how it will turn out and the biggest thing when you Zentangle there are no mistakes (can’t erase) which makes it really challenging at times

I used two Cricut Cartridges to make this card – The base of the card was made from the Close To My Heart Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.  Its hard to see in this picture but the sentiment Happy Birthday is on a pop-up.  That is one of the great function keys on this cartridge.

The Balloons and the Happy Birthday sentiment, are from Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge.  First I cut the balloons on white cardstock.  The I took the blade out of the Cricut housing and added a black marker to write not cut the Happy Birthday sentiment.  If you are going to look for these balloons on your cartridge Hello Kitty was actually holding these balloons and I cut her out of the card – sorry Kitty just wanted your balloons LOL 🙂

Then I drew all of the Zentangle designs on each balloon (it took awhile but was sooo worth it) with a Sakura Micron 01 black marker.  It is so much fun to see the end result when you Zentangle.

Since I made the base of the card black so that the images would really pop off the page, I used a pattern paper for the backing for this pop-up card.  The pattern of this paper really looks like a Zentangle pattern but I didn’t make it.  I just wanted to show you how I put my handmade stamp on the back of this card so it could be seen with that patterned paper.

Well this was another super fun card to make.  Hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Sweet Sixteen Birthday Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a birthday card that I made for our niece Riley.  When you live in Florida you get your drivers license when you are sixteen.  So I wanted to make a super cute card that had 16 candles plus some kind of car to celebrate this special birthday.

I wasn’t sure on the color theme so decided to just make it really colorful since we are celebrating a sweet sixteen birthday 🙂

I used the Cricut Expression to cut the image of a zebra driving a car from the Paisley Cricut Cartridge. Then using the new Sizzix Big Shot Plus machine and a thin metal die of a candle,  I cut out 16 candles on white cardstock and then stamped the outline of the candle in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored each one with all different colors of Copic markers.  (the stamp set and metal dies are from The Stamps of Life)

Now for the fun part.  Putting all these pieces together using all different size pot dots to layer the candles and the car onto the base of the card for a really “pop off the card” look.  I think I accomplished what I wanted to do 🙂

~ Happy Birthday Riley ~
