Sending Thoughts and Prayers To All In The Path Of Hurricane Sandy

Hello My Stamping Friends,

I know that this blog is about having fun Stamping but today I want to put stamping aside.

For the past few days, I have been glued to the weather channel to keep up with all the new information regarding Hurricane Sandy. It’s really scarey to me to know that my family and so many of my stamping friends can be affected by this dangerous storm.

I want to send my thoughts & prayers to everyone who is in the path of Hurricane Sandy.

Please stay safe and listen to your local officials in your towns.  They might not be saying what you want to hear, no one wants to leave there home (especially all those stamps and crafting supplies), but they are thinking about your well being, so please do what is asked.

Stampin’ Up New Stamp Set Moving Forward

Hello My Crafty and Stamping Friends.

I have made this birthday card for my dad-in-law using the new Moving Forward stamp set from Stampin’ Up.  Besides the fact that this set is really fun, it gets even better, because when you purchase this stamp set, Stampin’ Up donates part of the purchase price to support the Ronald McDonald House charities.

So you have fun stamping while helping a charity – I love it!

The stamp set has a bicycle (which I used), sail boat and a blimp (balloon), also with some sentiments.

In this card I used alot of supplies that are in my craft room.  The seagulls were cut using the Cricut Expression machine with the Life is a Beach cartridge.

Palm trees was made with a paper punch from punch bunch for the palms and the base was cut freehand on a piece of kraft cardstock and with the side of a Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad just brushed against lightly to get the look of a trunk of the tree.

I live on an island in north Florida and so many people ride there bicycles on the beach so since my dad-in-law visited and loved that idea I made him the beach theme card.

All I did to make the layers of the sand and ocean was I just used the torn paper look (really just tear the piece of cardstock) to get an uneven look.  I then added some glitter for the glistening sand.

Wishing my Dad-In-Law a Very Happy Birthday!

Flower Stamp Birthday Card Idea

Hello My Stamping Friends,

Have you ever made a card and when it was complete said to yourself or out loud “Wow that looks Fantastic”?  Well, that’s what  just did ~ LOL

Using just one stamp, a few paper punches, and embellishments and look how beautiful this card is 🙂

I recently found a box in my craft room that had alot of “old” stamping products.  I mean like maybe 10 years old.  Anyway, it was filled with lots of cardstock and ink pads (I use to love to emboss everything and I purchased every color that was available in pigment inks)

This very special Birthday Card below was made with the a Flower stamp and a Happy Birthday stamp, but i just had to use some of the old products that I found.

Card Making Is Always On The Top Of My List

Hello My Crafty Friends,

I have been busy working on some fun projects.  Of course making handmade cards has been on the top of my list, but I have been also looking at my small kitchen table wondering how I can make it more fun. We don’t sit at this table, it is actually for my cats to look out the window 🙂   I found a piece of fabric that I think I am going to somehow make a table top not a table cloth.  Anyway as soon as I figure it all out I will show you what I am talking about.

Here are some of the fun cards that I have been making ~ You can stop over at Stampin Upon The Island to find out how these cards were made.

Mixed Bunch Stamps Make Perfect Handmade Greeting Cards

Hello My Stamping Friends,

It’s summer time on the island and the beaches are getting a little more crowded, but that’s just fine with me.  It’s so much fun sitting on my beach chair and watching all the fun, laughter and smiles.  It seems like once people get to the beach all problems that you may be experiencing in your everyday life just disappear.

I have had so much fun making these Mixed Bunch cards.  Stacking these cards together they look  like (to me at least) a beautiful  tropical flower paradise.

Same idea different colors ~ how fun is this?  You have to try it! 🙂

What a great gift this would make.  Stamp a Mixed Bunch in all different colors, wrap them together with a ribbon, and you have the perfect handmade present for that special someone to enjoy.

Hope you enjoyed your visit to Stampin Upon The Island today!
