Today I want to share with you a handmade coffee cup birthday card that I made for my brother-in-law.  I have seen lots of cards in the shape of a coffee cups like the ones you would see at your local coffee shop, and I thought that would be a fun idea for a birthday card.  Well after looking at all of my Cricut Cartridges, would you believe that I did not have that cartridge?    So here is where a little imagination and some creativity comes in.

Using the From My Kitchen Cricut Cartridge, Gypsy and Cricut Expression machine,  I made a coffee cup card.

I cut the shape in blackout mode of the refrigerator, yup, you read that correctly the refrigerator.  All I did was cut the two small legs off the bottom and I had the shape of a coffee cup.  I was enclosing a gift card into this card so i just made sure when sizing this card that the card would fit inside without sticking out.  Using the Gypsy I welding the sides together which made a card.  All I needed to do is fold in the center.

As I am writing this post and looking at the From My Kitchen Cricut Cartridge booklet and  I am laughing because I could have just used the shift function and I would have got the same image and wouldn’t have had to cut off the legs.

Anyway I increased the size and cut it out again but his time with a brown cardstock.  Then using a paper cutter (or you could use a scissor) just snipped off the top pf the refrigerator shape to make it look like a lid.  It looked good but seeing pictures of coffee cup lids they had some curve to it, so I took a small oval paper punch and with one punch on each side did the trick of looking like a lid.  Then added a piece of raffia for a little extra dimension.

For the bottom half of the coffee cup took the brown cardstock, cut a strip that would wrap around the entire card (just like the cup wrap you would get in a coffee shop so you don’t burn your hands on the hot cup)  ran that strip through the Cuttlebug with embossing folder.  Final touch was the circle birthday sentiment, circle punch then applied with a pop dot.

I have to start this post by saying Wow!!!!!

I know that this cricut cartridge has been out for awhile now but I just got my hands on it and I will never let it go

Anyone who loves flowers, paper, and of course the Cricut Expression or any Cricut cutting machine, will absolutely love this Art Cartridge Flower Shoppe from Cricut.

My Mom just had a very special birthday and I wanted to make her the most perfect handmade card ever…..and since I was enclosing the card into a box along with her present I didn’t care if it would be a little bulky.

Using the Cricut Expression machine I cut out several different sizes of the Daisy1 flower onto different colors and patterns of cardstock.  To think that a piece of paper cut into a circle spiral and when rolled up can make such great looking  flowers is pretty cool   All it takes is some adhesive to keep it together and WA-la a flower.  I also use the Cricut spatula to remove the flowers from the Cricut cutting mat, it made it so much easier using the spatula and not worrying about the paper tearing.

I also added some white ribbon, blue raffia and twine to make the bow.  Of course that wasn’t enough I had to cut out some heats and attach to the bottom of the ribbon.

My Godson’s birthday is this month and I wanted to make him a special card.  He loves cookies and we sent him a big box of Oreo cookies as part of his present.  As I was looking the box it gave me a great idea.  Make a Oreo cookie card.

The Picture didn’t come out that good but the card looked great!

I made the cookie using the Cricut Expression along with the Mini Monograms Cricut Cartridge.  The circle scallop shape was great  for the cookie top and bottom and just a circle for the cream.  Also using the Cuttlebug I embossed the top with the polka dot embossing folder.

Then to make it a personal cookie instead of cutting out the letters for Oreo I used the Plantin SchoolBook Cricut Cartridge and cut out Tyler’s name for the top of the cookie.  Attached the top and bottom with a mini brad.

Looking at this picture as I am writing this post is making me want a big glass of milk and some cookies

Having a Handstamped Birthday Card Idea along with Cricut Card Idea can only turn out to be Wonderful!

Using just two stamps from Stampin’ Up, a few paper punches from Stampin’ Up and Marvy Uchida , Cuttlebug with polka dot embossing folder, Cricut Expression machine, Lovely Floral Cricut cartridge, cardstock from The Paper Cut, and some pearl embellishments from Jolee.

When I was done with the stamping and layering of this card it looked great but it needed just one more thing.  I had to add an image from the Lovely Floral Cricut lite cartridge.  The butterfly was perfect.  It added the final touch to this handmade birthday card.  And you know me, I love my Cricut

I have been looking thru all of my pictures of greeting cards that I have made and  I came across this colorful handmade birthday card that I never shared with you.  It was so super easy to make that I had to make this quick post to show you.

As I was getting all the information about how to make this card, I went through my rubber stamps and I noticed that I have quite a few clear stamp sets and acrylic blocks.  You can have soooo many more clear stamps and not need alot of space to store them and the clean up is even so much better then using the wood mounted stamps (well that’s my opinion) and just to let you know I have a “ton” of wood mounted stamp.

I  made the layers of the card using Spellbinder Nestabilities, and running them through the Cuttlebug machine.  The stamp used is from Stampin’ Up! and the markers used for coloring the letters are from Tombow, Stampin’ Up and also EK Success.

I can’t believe it’s January when the temperature outside feels like summer   I’m really loving this Florida weather.

Today I made a handstamped birthday card for my sister using some fun rubber stamping ideas.  Now that I see the finished card,  I also used some bright summertime colors as well.

I can’t remember the last time that I made a card that I didn’t use a layering technique.  It just brings the handstamped card to life when you add some pop dots and other paper embellishments.

The rubber stamps  that I used are from Stampin’ Up! as well as the scalloped punch, the circle punches that I used are from Marvy Uchida but remember, you can use any stamps and paper punches that you have in your own supplies to make your special handmade, handstamped birthday card for your special person.

I have a new handstamped greeting card idea with a new technique that I just learned and it looks great so I just had to share with you.  It’s called the triple time stamping.  I’m sure you can stamp as many layers as you like but this one is done in triple layers.

You can use any colors that you want I just loved the combination of these colors.

The first thing you need to do is cut some card stock.

White – three pieces cut into 2″  x 3″  1/4″, 3″  x 4 1/4″ and 4″  x 5 1/4″

Navy – three pieces cut into 2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″, 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ and 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Now the fun part begins.  Take the three pieces of the  white cardstock and put just one little spot of adhesive on the back of each one (just enough to hold it down but not really stick, cause you will be removing it) and then layer each piece on top of one another

Now all you need to do is stamp the image as if it was a single sheet of cardstock.  You will see the white lines around the stamped image but don’t worry you will never know once we are done.

When you are all done stamping, gently take apart each layer and put them onto the Navy cardstock.

Since the inside of the card is Navy card you may want to cut a piece of white cardstock and stamp a little something inside to bring the card all together.

To finish the card you just have to layer the pieces on top of each other, matching the design.  It feels like I am making a  stamping puzzle.

Well, what do you think?  Doesn’t it look great?  And it really wasn’t hard to make either.  Hope you enjoyed this new triple time stamping technique.
