A Zentangle Cricut Birthday Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Hope you all had a great weekend. Today I want to share with you a birthday card that I made for my nephew Ryan.  He is the person who got me involved in Zentangle, so I just had to create his card with some kind of Zentangle patters but it also had to have a cool image.

I found this flamingo image on the Life Is A Beach Cricut cartridge.  It was cut on white cardstock and filled it in with my own Zentangle art.  This was a really fun card to make.

A Happy Birthday Zentangle Cricut Card Idea

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a birthday card that I made for my Poppa (my husbands dad).  I always have a hard time making masculine cards and I wanted to make this one just a little different then all the others that I have made for him over the years.

I am still fascinated with each Zentangle design that I create because I never really know how it will turn out and the biggest thing when you Zentangle there are no mistakes (can’t erase) which makes it really challenging at times

I used two Cricut Cartridges to make this card – The base of the card was made from the Close To My Heart Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.  Its hard to see in this picture but the sentiment Happy Birthday is on a pop-up.  That is one of the great function keys on this cartridge.

The Balloons and the Happy Birthday sentiment, are from Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge.  First I cut the balloons on white cardstock.  The I took the blade out of the Cricut housing and added a black marker to write not cut the Happy Birthday sentiment.  If you are going to look for these balloons on your cartridge Hello Kitty was actually holding these balloons and I cut her out of the card – sorry Kitty just wanted your balloons LOL 🙂

Then I drew all of the Zentangle designs on each balloon (it took awhile but was sooo worth it) with a Sakura Micron 01 black marker.  It is so much fun to see the end result when you Zentangle.

Since I made the base of the card black so that the images would really pop off the page, I used a pattern paper for the backing for this pop-up card.  The pattern of this paper really looks like a Zentangle pattern but I didn’t make it.  I just wanted to show you how I put my handmade stamp on the back of this card so it could be seen with that patterned paper.

Well this was another super fun card to make.  Hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Seven Months of Daily Zentangle and Loving It

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Back in January I told you that I started to Zentangle.  If you missed it you can read the post of Happy New Year.  Well I can’t believe its been seven months and I haven’t missed a day 🙂

What I think is really great about Zentangle is that you can incorporate it into all different forms of crafting.  I have cut images with the Cricut Expression and also images from thin metal dies that I put thru either the Cuttlebug or Big Shot and then filled in the design with my own Zentangle pattern.   I have also used a basic rubber stamp and decorated the stamped image with an original Zentangle design.  You can use these images to make greeting cards, scrapbook pages and even put them in a frame and hang on your wall for all to see your original artwork.

I have posted some of my Daily Zentangle on Instagram Joans Craft World, if you like to check them out.

Hope you all have a Great Weekend and maybe if you are just relaxing, try your own Zentangle design and see for yourself how much fun this is 🙂

Cricut Expression and Zentangle Makes A Happy Fathers Day

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

This card was sooo much fun to make because I used my old favorite the Cricut Expression added with my new favorite Zentangle and look what I created?

I used the Cricut Expression with the Wild Card Cartridge to cut out the Phrase Happy Fathers Day on white cardstock.

Then I started having a lot of fun just Zentangling each letter with a black 01 Micron marker from Sakura.  Used some pop dots for the 3D look on the back of the phrase and then just layered with black and blue cardstock.

I am really happy how this card came out.  Why don’t you try to incorporate some of your old and new favorite crafts together and see what cool things you can create 🙂

Sixteen Candles Zentangle Birthday Card

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

Hope you are all doing well.  I am loving this new Zentangle Art that I have been doing now since November.  I am trying different ways to incorporate Zentangle with all of the craft supplies that I currently have and its working pretty well.

My Godsons birthday was earlier this month and I wanted to make a special card.  So I used candle framelits from The Stamps Of Life.  I cut out 16 of them on white cardstock using the Cuttlebug machine and then Zentangled each one with a different original pattern using a Pigma Ink Micron 01 marker.  Now I had to think of a cool way to put them all together and not hide the design.  So I punched a hole in the bottom of each candle using my Crop-a-Dial and attached them all  with a small brad.

Happy Birthday Zentangle Card

To cover the brad, I stamped the Banner using the Close to my Heart stamp set Banner Wishes and then added some of my own Zentangle pattern to the stamp to make it blend perfectly with the candles.

I think this card turned out great.  I am so happy that I can use all of my supplies and add my own design by drawing some Zentangle art.
